We use this micro-site to present news releases, event updates, FYI, media invitations, press materials, and RSS newsfeeds of our retained and project clients, for our editorial colleagues.

It will be a simple and functional site with little frills to waste your time. If you use a RSS newsreader software, you can subscribe to the RSS feeds. Feel free to let us know what specific industry you are interested in, and if we have a client in that area, you can be assured we will do our best to match clients from those industries with your requests. Meaning of microwire.info

microwire.info: [acronym] McGallen Internet Communications, Releases & Occasions Wire Service©

A more subtle reason why we labeled this site "micro", was because we believe this will be a humble small effort, and will only be limited to clients' communication materials, rather than a public and universal wire service. This will allow us to keep the site small and manageable as an ongoing project. At the same time, we can offer this as a unique value-added service to our clients, allowing their news materials to have an additional Internet medium to reach out to more audiences, prospects and customers.

Why .info? This is because this won't be a "paid for" service by itself, but rather, an additional value-added component for our retained and project clients. We will not offer this as an individual release service such as those offered in the USA or elsewhere. The reason? We prefer to offer extra value to our clients whom we will work strategically and tactically, rather than simply be a release site. If you genuinely believe in the power and seriousness of public relations (PR) and publicity, you will know that just releasing news blind out there will not get you very far. Therefore, we believe in the strategic value of our consulting, and what long-term positive impact we bring to our clients.

Why RSS feeds?

If you are a journalist with information overload, you will appreciate RSS (Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary). RSS feeds will provide you with just headlines in your RSS-capable web browser (such as the free open source Firefox), as well as specialized RSS reader software (mostly for free on the Internet). With RSS, you don't need to read the entire news release if you don't want to, and simply skim through news headlines. Once you decide to read a release or story, simply click on the headline and your web browser will display the full news release.

There are many news sources in the world, just as there are many search engines and directories available. Some of those we like include Google News, Technorati, 2RSS.com, Search 4 RSS, Feed-Directory, and many others. We will update you when we find more sources.
