Birthday cheers for Club Rainbow children from Swensen's

SINGAPORE, 26 February 2008 - American restaurant chain, Swensen's, will be sending 1 kilogram ice cream birthday cakes to all of Club Rainbow's children, 470 in all, for the whole year of 2008. Club Rainbow is the adopted charity of Swensen's since 2007, and has pledged previously a minimum of S$100,000 towards the needs of the charity.

As a dedicated pro-family restaurant, Swensen's has chosen to focus on children and the care of them. Club Rainbow serves and cares for 470 children today, all of whom suffer from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and range from 1 to 20 years old. The charity also extends help to the children's families in Singapore.

For 2008, Swensen's will send a special 1 kilogram ice cream birthday cake during the birthdays of each of the 470 children under Club Rainbow, with a small hope of bringing cheer to them during their times of pain and suffering. Children are especially appreciative of such small gestures, and so Swensen's would like to continue with this in 2008.

For the past 15 years, Club Rainbow (Singapore) has been passionately catering to the emotional, educational and psychosocial needs of children in Singapore suffering from major chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Totally dependent on public donations, the charity which is managed by a group of volunteers, provides an array of support services for 470 Rainbow Children and their families.
