APC Announces New Appointments in Southeast Asian Management Team
New Tools Enable Customers to Experiment with Numerous Scenarios to Validate Overall Design Choices
Singapore, February 5, 2009 - APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced the appointment of Khoo Teng Seen (TS), to Vice President, ASEAN, and the appointment of Andy Low, to Country Manager for Singapore and Indonesia.
In his new role, TS is responsible for the business strategy in ASEAN, ensuring that APC across Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand remains focused on customers and partners. He will lead the team in developing customer-oriented processes, delivering innovative energy efficient solutions in data centers, and building successful relationships as part of Schneider Electric. TS previously held the position of Vice President of services for Asia Pacific/Japan.
TS joined APC in May 2006 with 17 years of experience from the IT industry and almost 10 years in regional services management across Asia Pacific. He first served as General Manager of Services, Asia Pacific and later advanced as Vice President of Services for Asia Pacific/Japan before he took on the role of Vice President, ASEAN in October 2008. Throughout his career, TS has been involved in building, growing and transforming service businesses.
Andy Low, reporting to TS Khoo, will be responsible for overseeing the sales, services and marketing aspects of APC in Singapore and Indonesia. His role includes maintaining leadership in the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) market, further strengthening solutions in the enterprise space, and most importantly educating the IT community on energy efficient solutions offered by APC.
Andy Low has more than 15 years of experience in managing channel and sales operations. He joined APC in 2001 to manage strategic partners, and later in 2006, was promoted to Director of Channel Business Development, to oversee the entire channel business in ASEAN. Andy was appointed as Country Manager for Singapore and Indonesia in Jan 2009.
"As part of the Schneider Electric family, we have a wealth of experience in all areas of data centre and facility infrastructure, from power to cooling, to racks and security. We also have a unique differentiator, which is enterprise software and services that help companies increase the availability and reliability of their IT systems.
"By investing significantly in R&D of energy efficient solutions for data centers, APC enables our customers to realize a substantial increase in business value and return on investment," said TS Khoo, APC's Vice President of ASEAN. "I am delighted and honoured for the opportunity to lead the ASEAN team, in working with our customers as their trusted advisors to help them make the most of their energy," he said.
Andy Low adds, "In the current economic climate, our customers are looking for ways to reduce expenditure without compromising their business standards. In our studies, we found that every 1% improvement in data centre efficiency corresponds to approximately 2% reduction in electrical bills. Our solutions can reduce data centre power consumption by up to 30% simply by having better planning and designs. This directly translates to lower cost of business operation for our customers. We stand ready to address our customers' power and cooling challenges, as they strive to meet their business objectives."
