APC's Electrical Efficiency Assessment Service Ensures Availability, and Maximizes Efficiency
Vendor-Neutral Recommendations Optimize Power and Cooling Infrastructure and Plan for Future Growth or Consolidation
Singapore, February 25, 2009 - APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced the launch of the Electrical Efficiency Assessment Service designed to address the growing concern of energy efficiency in the data center. Delivered by APC's global Professional Services organization, the vendor-neutral suite of services includes comprehensive evaluation of energy use in customers' facilities with detailed reports on total data center input power, IT load, Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), and power and cooling conditions. Consultants also provide proposals to resolve issues with a range of recommendations to suit customer needs.
"There are and will continue to be business and regulatory climates that demand increased efficiencies within the data center," said John DiPippo, senior vice president, Data Center Solutions, Services, and Software, APC. "APC's new Electrical Efficiency Assessment Service brings significant return on investment as customers optimize current infrastructure and plan for future growth or consolidation."
The Services team audits existing data centers and provides customers with detailed proposals to improve their current data center efficiency. The proposal recommends a range of solutions that yield minimum to maximum estimated efficiency gains, allowing customers to implement specific changes that best fit their business needs and data center environments. Issues typically found in data centers often are addressed with a combination of airflow and cooling management techniques, smarter hot-cold aisle configurations and containment systems, upgrades to UPS systems, as well as modernization of rack enclosures with new intelligent systems.
The Electrical Efficiency Assessment Service is currently available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam.
