Singapore Race Car Driver Melvin Choo Announces 2009 Race Schedule and Experiential Web Site

Singapore, 4 April 2009 - Leading Singapore race car driver, Melvin Choo, of Thunder Asia Racing, has announced his 2009 race participation schedule and an associated web presence, which will be an interactive experience to engage stakeholders and the public for all his races.

Melvin has a packed racing calendar in 2009 with more than 32 races lined up for the year. The highlight for the year includes participating in the most prominent Asian races, the Super GT (SGT) from June 19 to 20, 2009, another breakthrough for Singapore motorsports. He will be participating with a Toyota Celica GT300 which he will be driving for the first time.

On top of this series, he will be participating in 3 races in World Touring Car Championships (WTCC), and a full season in Aston Martin Asia Cup, which he came in third overall in 2008 and in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, which he will be participating in a Corum sponsored car.

TEAM Singapore Melvin is also participating in both Aston Martin Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup in his home track as a support race for the upcoming F1 GP in Singapore.

In view of the growing interest in car racing amongst fellow Singaporeans, Melvin Choo has launched his new website at www.melvinchoo.com with features to enable fellow car racing enthusiasts to immerse in the world of racing. The web site will provide information such as his current and ongoing race participation schedule, the most updated results of his race, as well as a blog, which will updated regularly to reflect his first hand account of the races, his experience before and after the races, as well as thoughts on the races. It will be an engaging and interactive experience for sponsors, stakeholders, media, friends, and fans alike.

Melvin Choo (car number: 69) is the first Singaporean race driver to achieve a remarkable feat of chalking up 30 race participations in 2008, with a total of 7 victories, 8 podium finishes and 5 pole positions in three different cars, Aston Martin, BMW and Porsche, representing accomplishment through expertise. Becoming the Class B winner in the JPM Integra Championship in Malaysia, jumpstart his racing career in Asia in 2006.
