FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (For Singapore Only)

APC by Schneider Electric Launches New Trade-UPS® Program in Singapore

APC's new UPS trade in program allows businesses to beat downtime, save money and protect the environment

Singapore, July 13, 2009 - APC by Schneider Electric a global leader in integrated critical power, cooling and management services, today announced the launch of its new Trade-UPS program that allows customers to trade in their old single-phase UPS, regardless of brand, for a new APC single-phase UPS.

APC invites businesses with UPS that are nearing end of life, no longer under warranty, or those that can no longer support their data and power requirements, to consider the APC Trade-UPS program.

Under the program, businesses can trade in any single UPS - no matter what brand or whether it even works - for a brand-new energy efficient single-phase UPS with the latest technology, and get up to 20% discount off the suggested retail prices. Each unit comes with a two-year factory warranty. The APC Trade-UPS program will run from July 1 to August 31, 2009 in Singapore.

According to Leanne Cunnold, Vice President, Home & Business Networks Asia Pacific & Japan, APC by Schneider Electric, "Today's networked environments demand better power protection, longer runtimes, and greater management than ever. The consequences of a single server going down are catastrophic.

"APC Trade-UPS program is aimed to help Singapore businesses beat downtime by making it easy and cost effective to upgrade to the latest UPS technology, while at the same time, save money and protect the environment."

Real Need for New UPS Technology

A UPS bought only two years ago relies on 'old' technology. A UPS in today's networked environments requires backup runtime of hours, not minutes. Increased loads calls for much greater volt-amps (VA) capacity and IT managers need a high degree of visibility into their physical infrastructure to manage more and more complex networks.

The new APC UPS range has the latest technology to meet these challenges and more. They feature improved energy efficiency of 30 to 40% making them less expensive to operate and "greener".

APC has partnered with an internationally certified organization (ISO 14001:2004) to ensure that UPS are disposed with minimum environmental impact.

"If your IT environment has grown over the past three years, or if you have virtualized servers, converged your network, or rolled out new applications, it may be time to upgrade your UPS to a more robust, energy efficient model," says Andy Low, Singapore Country Manager, APC by Schneider Electric. "We offer businesses with an ideal way to get a brand new UPS with the latest technologies, through the unique APC Trade-UPS program."

Customers can call the APC Customer Hotline 6389 6885 in Singapore to register for APC Trade-UPS® Program.
