Judith Leiber Announces Its New Collection

SINGAPORE, January 20, 2010 - Acclaimed accessories house Judith Leiber unveils its latest eyewear collection featuring frames from four best selling groups: Channel, Art Deco, Moroccan and Cubism. The new groupings are made up of four sunglasses and seven optical styles.

The Channel group, one of the original Judith Leiber Eyewear categories, draws its inspiration from the brand's renowned Chocolate Bar handbag. New for this season, JL 1580SG is offered in two jewel-toned colors: Ruby and Amethyst. Offering a striking contrast with the split titanium temple, the fashion colors update a classic Judith Leiber style with panache.

Art Deco's spirited extravagance is once again the inspiration for a Judith Leiber Eyewear grouping. Two optical frames, JL1578 and JL1579A, featuring genuine Austrian crystals set into a titanium reminiscent of the elegant and stylish modernism that is a cornerstone of classic Art Deco styling.

The Moroccan group draws inspiration from the meticulous Moorish craftsmanship that was popular during the 3rd and 4th centuries. JL 1163, a soft oval optical frame boasts real gold and silver leafing and feature new large genuine Austrian crystals.

Cubism, with its dismantled and randomly reassembled subject matter, inspires the last grouping in this season's collection. Titanium styles JL 1581, a bottom rimless butterfly optical frame features jewel-tone genuine Austrian crystals arranged on the temples in an abstract pattern. Handmade acetate frames also showcase Cubism principles when paired with custom cast metal pieces that have been set with multicolored crystals. JL 1050, a modern geometric optical style features crystal detailing on the top, bottom and side of the temples as an homage to the use of differing points of view championed by the Cubist artists of the 20th century. These new style entice you to examine and then reexamine the hidden details of the frames, an enduring legacy of the Cubism art movement.

Degrade gradients are an innovative coloration technique used throughout the collection. Featured in pop colors, including ruby and amethyst, this process gives a contemporary feel to the key new styles.

Judith Leiber sunglasses and ophthalmics will be available in Bejewelled optical boutiques and Bejewelled corners in Spectacle Hut.
