Swensen's gave away a 1-Carat Diamond for Valentine's Day

Winners also announced for the Valentine Sundae Design

Singapore, February 26, 2010 - Swensen's gave away a 1-carat diamond to a lucky winner during the Valentine's Day Promotion recently when 9 lucky diners were invited to an ice cream buffet with their families and friends at Swensen's ION Orchard restaurant. At the event, diners also designed their own Valentine Sundaes, and winners were chosen for their originality.

Swensen's announced earlier that its Valentine's Day promotion would include a 1-carat diamond to be given away at a grand lucky draw out of some diners at its restaurants island-wide. Nine lucky diners were chosen to participate in this grand draw at Swensen's ION Orchard outlet. The lucky diner who walked away with the 1-carat diamond was Mr. Hong Chun Kiat. The rest of the 8 diners who participated in the grand lucky draw were given vouchers to exchange for a gem or semi-precious stone.

During the event, the 9 diners designed their personalized sundae to represent their perception of what love meant. The three top winners received S$100 Swensen's vouchers while the rest received S$30 vouchers.

"I placed one scoop of strawberry ice cream because my wife is my only love. The strawberry is in the shape of a heart, representing my love for her. There are nuts around the ice cream to show that I am 'nuts over her'. The 'strawberry-looking' chocolate-coated cookies represents the fruits of my labor of love. The ice cream scoops are in the shape of circles, representing my love is unending for her," says Kenny Ong Chin Aik, one of the top 3 winners during the sundae design round.
