SINGAPORE – AutoStore, the industry standard in cube storage automation, has strengthened its foothold in the Asia Pacific region by adding key executives. Clement Yew has taken on the role of AutoStore’s Director of Business Development, Southeast Asia, with the mission of driving the company’s expansion in the region.
There has been a dramatic shift in the adoption of processes and systems by businesses in the Asia Pacific region over the years, especially in areas where finding qualified workers is difficult. Automated solutions, robotics, and cloud-based applications have been adopted by businesses to help maximize the efficiency of warehouse space. Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) are a relatively new development that has been sped up by the need for people to isolate themselves from others, close borders, and work from home because of a pandemic.
Increasing from US$6.8 billion in 2020, the global market for ASRS is expected to reach US$10.5 billion by 2027, as reported by ReportLinker. Australia, India, and South Korea are expected to drive growth in the Asia Pacific region, which will result in a $1.2 billion market by 2027.

Yew, who has worked in robotics and automation for over a decade, is in charge of expanding AutoStore into ASEAN’s emerging markets, raising the company’s profile in the region, and maximizing new opportunities. Yew spent over 14 years working for prominent corporations like Keyence and SICK before joining AutoStore. Regularly found on the speaker’s podium and in attendance at manufacturing and business conferences, he is an active member of the manufacturing community.
